Celebrate With Tambourine Dancing: Be the leader of fun and dance with the world’s most beloved musical instrument!  Tambourine dancing helps us rejoice, lead our parade, announce events, create excitement at parties, bring musical rhythms to our dances, and serve as accompaniment four our most joyful performances, memories and occasions. Share innovative tambourine techniques with multi-cultural dancing tambourine expert and artist, Natica Angilly. All are welcome to join in the easy and immediate methods for spirited and delightful dancing with tambourines. Tambourines provided for class and will also be made available for purchase from the instructor.

Four Introductory Workshops offered:


1. DANCING POETRY
Includes: development of dance movements to convey the depths of the heart of poetry.
Stepping beyond the conventional expression with Natica’s unique Poetic Dance Language.
Fuse with the Muses of the arts: Lyricism, Music, Drama, Love, Sacredness, Fame, Comedy, Heroism, and your own Dance Epic.

2.  Natica’s STARDUST VEILS - Spectacular inventions in lyrical veil work. 
Includes techniques useful for extension into dance with poetic intent for contemporary American Art Dance, Middle Eastern Dances, Life Celebrations, Sacred Ceremonies (as weddings, graduations, dedications), and poetic panorama.

3. FACIAL EXPRESSIONS AND THE MOVING WORD, your face connects with soul,  using ancient and universal archetypes. 
Expression, moves, qualities, and pictorials created with passionate poetics.

4. TANTALIZING TAMBOURINE DANCING,
 Innovative multi-cultural dance techniques.   How to enchant your audience and woo the senses of motion, emotion, sight and sound with one of the oldest and most universal instruments of dance. Includes exciting dance styling from Gypsy, Russian, Greek, Egyptian, Ceremonial, Improvisational, plus Double and Multiple Tambourine Dance Innovations with the instrument long used for phrasing, recall, to punctuate poetry, and to elicite “the audible awe!”  


Natica (center back) demonstrates a classical Gypsy pose while students learn the stance.

All classes in this series will be taught in the San Francisco East Bay Area.

National Dance Week Classes                    


All National Dance Week Classes are free of charge

Each class is an introduction to the concept of Poetic Dance, combining poetry and dance into a unified art form. Use of facial expressions, significance of specific moves, use of various props and the dyanamics of stage positioning will be only a few of the topics discussed and practiced each session.
