"Lamentation in flattened thirds and sevenths./ The blue whale takes up an undulating song" (BH)

Norma King Green, Fairfield, CA brought down the house with her "The Witches Convention" (BH)
Redwood Empire Chinese Association's Teen Cultural Dancers performed a dance from Xin Jiang, China to a poem entitled "Xin Jiang," written by dancer Ellen Hickman. The poem was read by her mother, Ruth Hickman and photographed by her father, Dr. Robert Hickman (BH)
Maya Ibitz completed this dance duet (BH)
The dance depicted life on the open plains of western China (BH)
Many traditional Xin Jiang dance moves were incorporated in this dance (GH)
Xin Jiang is culturally closer to the Middle East than it is to Eastern Han culture we traditionally think of as Chinese
Ruth Hickman did a wonderful job of reading her daughter's poem for the dance (BH)
